Unified Interface Calendar Control

Since the v9.0 update, our users complain about the calendar control not working as a calendar on a week schedule. 
They also want to see completed activites as red or striketrough as on the previous Social Pane. 

Can I accomplish a color scheme on that control? I can select the color for the control as statecode for activities, but this statecodes cannot be edited...and I can't find the color definitions...
