Quick send using Gmail instead of Outlook

We are considering changing from Outlook to Gmail for our corporate emails but we send invoices out using Quick Send. Has there been any updates on whether quick send will work with Gmail? The last post I found was in 2012. Let me know if anyone has gotten this to work or if Outlook is still a requirement.
