cannot track email in outlook, error msg

Hi, any help would be appreciated!

Been using CRM Online for awhile now.  Had a new problem show up this week that I haven't seen before.  Whenever I try to track an email (or anything else for that matter) in Outlook I get the following error (after waiting for about 30 seconds):

An unknown error occurred while synchronizing data to Outlook.ItemName=subject of email

I have tried it with many different emails and I get the same message.  When trying to tag existing tasks I get a permissions error, odd considering my user is the System Admin:

An error occurred promoting this item to Microsoft Dynamics CRM.  The Microsoft Dynamics CRM server could not be contacted or the user has insufficient permissions to perform this action.

If anyone could provde some pointers I would be in your debt.
