How do I migrate Power BI reports from sandbox enviroment to production enviroment

I want to create a power BI report using direct query method. I have connected to the test database via power BI desktop and created a report. Then I have downloaded the PBIX file and uploaded to the Asset Library (LCS). After that, I've published the report and deployed form Dynamics 365 FO. The problem is the data that I'm seeing shows the demo environment data.

I used this link https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/dynamicsaxbi/2016/12/12/power-bi-content-from-microsoft-and-your-partners/ as a reference and performed each step. But still couldn't see the prod environment data. What exactly migrating the report to the production environment means? Is there anything that I'm missing?

Is there anyone has an idea about the problem?

I recently created a custom view, giving me any overdue tasks as well as tasks for the upcoming week. I would like to rearrange the column order as well as the column sizes but I do not have a "view" button to make these adjustments. When I go through the customizations portal, I do not see my new view listed in the tasks entity.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi All,

I'm using Dynamics Online Version 1710 (9.1.0.1677) and Field Service version 7.5.6.97. Initially i was not able to create a bookable resource through unified interface but with some customization's on top of bookable resource entity. Now, i'm able to create a bookable resource but i cannot setup work hours for that specific bookable resource because that option is not available.

Can you please say is that because of limitations or do i need to customize something to get it?

Long time since I came-in to Dynamics GP Community. We are having one problem after GP upgraded from 2013 R2 into 2016 R2. The standard Sales Transaction-> smartlist Favorites is having duplicate invoices appearing on it. And when user running again after few hours its getting settled and no duplicate found on smartlist. Can anyone help on this.

Hello All,

I am facing the following error while posting Free text invoice. The error only occurs when running in batch. Though the invoice gets posted successfully, when it goes for printing the invoice/opening the report, some sort of runPermissions check is failing in case of batch, while without batch it runs successfully and prints the report.

I am unable to understand the root cause, nice to have your suggestions/solution.

I have added a field to the Contact entity called Website Downloads. This field is updated every time a client clicks on our website but what I want to do is have a sub grid within the Contact form that shows what this entry is each time it's updated. Then I ideally need this in a view with the contacts name and a list of the downloads so I can do an advanced find on the field. Any ideas please. PS I have tried to add a new entity that links to this field but the problem is you cannot do an OR on an Advanced find for 2 separate entities so back to square one.

We're researching how to best roll out our CRM content to users via mobile devices, but I've yet to find many successes where others have done this. Also we're not having much luck in testing links using ms-dynamicsxrm to create ties back into the mobile app from email and such. Is this a path worth going down or would it be better to create our own web-based app or even using SharePoint BCS and OData to integrate this into SharePoint since Share Point Mobile is kinda tried and true. We're using CRM 365 On Prem.

Hello!

I have a Dynamics 365 for Customer Service app and some processes working with CRM via OData (background C# solution). This week I found the following issue:

1) Contacts entity has 2 relations with Accounts table - default and custom.

2) When I tried to update custom relation via OData LinkEntryAsync method - all worked perfectly (only one field was updated of Contacts entity).

3) Before update CRM app size was 6.3GB.

4) After Contacts entity link updating CRM app is 10GB.

Any reason for 50% size increasing? Is it normal behavior?

PS: Contacts table have about 44000 records (not too much I think).

Mail Merge Template only printing 1 page

If we try to use a custom CRM template to generate mail merge documents when finishing the merge to generate a printout,

Only the 1st page of the first record prints (each record should be 2 pages) for a total of 3 records.

I'm not 100% but I think when we generate a mail merge without a template it works as expected.

(I only say this because when we generated it without a template it worked, but this could have been a simple chance of coincidence that it worked first time without a template)

We can eventually get the custom template to print correctly 2 pages with all 3 records printing, but theres no fix that we do, we literally just keep opening, closing, opening, closing till it prints correctly.

We are wasting a lot of paper and time, this issue cannot be limited to just us, but I've found nothing online about it.

We are using the latest Dynamics Online with the latest Version 9 CRM for outlook plugin with Word 365 fully up to date on Windows 10.

We're currently implementing a client and we're not able to find a proper solution for a specific case when using resource groups.

Our route setup is the following:

The resource group "Machines" is made of machine A and machine B.

The resource group "Operators" contains several interchangeable resources.

The route, we feel, is correctly set up for our need which is to have (1) The machine setup before any production is started, (2) The production itself & (3) the machine cleaned after the production is done.

The problem is, a resource group means any resource within the group can be used at any time. However in our case, if machine "A" is selected for operation n°10 then obviously, we want machine "A" for both operations n° 20 & 30. We're not going to setup machine B, produce on machine A and then clean machine B...

However, we do not want to select a specific resource as resource requirements because we'd like the system to maximize the machines usage by choosing itself which one is available.

Is there any way to set this up so that the same resource within the resource group is always selected when in the same production route? We haven't been able to find a parameter or to force the system to do so.

I want to automatize scheduling meetings with clients for my customer care team. They are spending too much time calling and emailing clients. Is there such a solution in the D365 system or some add-on that will allow customers to independently book a meeting with a member of my team in the calendar after prior availability (e.g. on the shared website)?

In our CRM 2013 (on premise)environment, we have same number of users and same configuration, and database is also the same. However the system performance of pre-production is faster than production. not getting why there is a difference in performance of production system.

points already considered and checked:

1. Server Space

2. Network speed

3.IIS configuration

4. Query optimization

5. checked Cache etc

Need experts advice to overcome this problem.

When i try to create a simple work flow like a : send a email when a lead is created with the name the lead and a url to that record I can not see the value for field in the form assistant.. I worked before whit Dynamic and I could see the fields

Ok, as we all know, the SetProcess action in workflows no longer works for changing BPFs. So I'm here to ask if anyone has resolved this issue.

Short story on my side, client has a number of processes for Case resolution, all unique to the Subject type. There is no commonality to them, other than the Subject being required. I've looked into merging them into one giant branching Business Process, but that looks unmaintainable after trying to map it out.

What I have done so far:

1. Set up a workflow that Creates the appropriate BPF record based on Subject. This works great, in the sense that the BPF gets created. However, the default BPF is still on, and is the one that's showing. (tried this both real-time and async)

2. Set up a dummy Default BPF that just asks for the Customer and the Subject in one lovely stage.

3. Autocomplete/disable dummy BPF the moment the Subject is selected.

Even with all of this, the one-step dummy BPF is the one that is selected (and shows as finished), not the real Case BPF they need to do their work. How do we set this so the only BPF that is running/showing is the only one valid for the subject? I want to avoid code if at all possible, as my client needs to maintain it afterward.

This seems like such a huge functionality step backwards, to me. All these enhancements to support multiple BPFs, and no easy way to set the active BPF.

we have configured to send out customer statement by email. But we need to modify the body message (which is now empty) for the email system sent out and we have no idea which class to customize. Checked SysEmailTable is now under application foundation model and is no longer allowed for customization. Is there any other way to customize the body message sent out by system for customer statement? Many thanks.

Hi all,

Might be a silly question but it has got me stuck.

I am installing ax2012 R3 cu13 on one server and SQL 2016 with SSRS on another.

I am getting an error when trying to install the Reporting extension. Which states that reporting services is not installed, but it is installed on the SQL server. Am i suppose to install the SQL reporting service on the AOS server?

I have configured the Report server setting within AX and configured the report server configuration manager, it was validated and created the report folder.

When I start a debug session from within VS, when the browser starts, it automatically logs into an AX account associated with another user. How can I set that account so it starts up with my AX account instead? I tried logging out of the account and logging in under mine but it's too late at that point.
