Cost calculation before creating product order

Hello!
I need your help, I would like to get cost calculation my finish product.

My steps:
1. I create a formula and route for product A (product A include purchase materials cost and operation cost)

2. I calculate price for product A (this product includes purchase materials cost and operation cost) - Product information management/ Products/ Released products/ menu Engineer - Formula version/ menu Formula version - Calculation

3. I include product A in the formula product B

4. I try to calculate price for product B - in a view calculation details form on Pending prices I see calculation for operations and for purchase materials , but there is not calculation for product A

How can I get full calculation price for product B including calculation product A

Business Rule: One of two fields required

Hi,

we have two fields, A & B.

Users must fill one of the two fields.

So, either A or B is business required. 

If field A contains data, field B should be hidden.

But, if field B contains data, field A should remain visible.

I feel like, this cannot be that hard...

Connection String does not seem to work for AD / O365 Integration

I have been using the XRMTooling assembly for integration applications for some time.

Our company is currently on CRM 2016 but we have build a brand new Dynamics 365 instance and are ready to make the transition.

We have AD integrated with O365 so our user logins do not have the "onmicrosoft" suffix.

I have been testing a command line app and have found that the Connection String method from XRM Tooling and it works fine when the type is set to AD and I supply the Dynamics URL.

However, if I try to supply an AD Account directly using any combination of username, password and domain, I cannot connect.

Is this broken?

I have been advised by someone who had a similar issue that the workaround is to create a dedicated O365 account and use that.  However this has a licencing cost and we already have a service account in place.

Print Archive Description

Hi,

Is it possible to change the description that appears in the Print Archive records? I would like to make it more descriptive. Currently it just shows "SalesInvoice.Report"

I would like to be able to make it more descriptive, showing other information such as Customer Number, Sales Order Number, Invoice Number, etc.

We are on AX 2012 R2 CU7

Working as AP: No rights to create POs, but rights to modify PO?

Hello

I recently transferred to a company that uses Nav 2016 which is a new ERP for me. I have a practical question:

I work as AP in the company. User in organization will create and receive POs. I will receive invoice phsyically and post the corresponding PO. 

Often the invoice amount differs slightly from the Direct Unit Cost on the PO. Right now I will use a lot of time to contact user and get them to change the Direct Unit Cost even though the difference is very small. 

I will never get access to modify PO freely. 

I was wondering if there is there a functionality in Nav, that would enable my role to modify the Direct Unit Cost within a threshold. For example in my previous ERP, I could modify up to 5 %. 

So if user set Direct Unit Cost on the PO to 100.00 USD, but invoice amount is 105.00 USD, I would like to be able to re-open the PO, modify the Direct Unit Cost to 105.00 USD and release PO. 

Please let me know if something is unclear.

Form Customization - Query Lookup

I want to customize this form: SysRecordTemplateSelect .  When I right click on it and select personalize, I see this query SysRecordTempTemplate.  However, I cannot locate this query in the Queries node in the AOT.  Does anyone know how I can find it?

Turn Dynamics 365 address field into dropdown list

Hello,

i'm new both to dynamics 365 and javascript.

By now users when have to fill an address form write values manually, therefore for the same region we have values like: Lombardia, LOMABARDIA, lomb, Lombadia, etc...

I can't create custom fields because address fields are grouped into composite field and are used for outlook sync.

So i think the right way is create a javascript mask that paste the choosen value in the free text address field, but here is my biggest problem, how to set that mask...

Questions:

Is this the best practice? if not what is?

I am able to create javascript's list and get/set value from crm, but i dont know how to build it over a free text field, any help?

AP Check - Printing check - stuck batch error

Had an extremely weird issue with AP printing checks & posting.

User Print checks ok, posting gets batch error.   I restore a db prior to check printing to a test co

I used the print edit list and received this error on a check.   It was actually not the same check that error out.

   Distributions for this transaction contain errors.

   This document should not be applied to other documents.

   This transaction contains errors. It won't be posted.

   The accounts payable distribution(s) does not equal the actual amount.

   The cash distribution(s) does not equal the actual amount.

 


Batch recovery had batch status of 15, batch recovery keep looping.   Only way to 'edit' or view the errors was to change the status to 0 so I was able to see what the issue was.

There was actually no errors in distribution, I was able to edit select checks and uncheck the vendor and tag the checks to be printed again and it was able to print and post with no issues.  

I have this db saved, yet to discover what the actual issue is.   I ran sql profiler and did not see any issues as far as I can tell.

Out of ideas but if anyone have suggestions

Error message in logs for activity enabled custom entities

Hi all, 

So I've been doing some combing through of my logs troubleshooting errors and such and came across one that is really stumping me on how to resolve it.  Primary message on it is below:

When creating an email activity from my custom email enabled entity:

>InitializeFrom cannot be invoked from source entity of type new_emailtest with id {923DD884-9049-E911-B7FD-005056AE4600} to target entity type email because there is no entity map defined between these two entities.

When creating a phone call from my activity enabled entity

>InitializeFrom cannot be invoked from source entity of type new_emailtest with id {923DD884-9049-E911-B7FD-005056AE4600} to target entity type phonecall because there is no entity map defined between these two entities.

Either way I can see that the error message is saying that it is having problems with the mappings for these entities to activities and seems to be isolated to when you check the box for allowing email to be sent from a custom entity.  Trick on this it that the Email, Activity, and Activity Party relationships are system created relationships so we can't modify them or their relationships.  

Now I realize that this isn't a surfaced error but it is cluttering up error logs and would rather not see it.  Has anyone else seen this/found a resolution or am I going to need to burn an incident to have MS look at this?

Hi Experts,

I need your expert advise on below requirement.

I have portal consisting of one web form which is almost like registration form. 

My web form is connected to lead entity and I have created 5 tabs in entity and every tab is separate web steps in web form. At last step we have 4 fields which are as shown in image. 

 

Our requirement is to make this field "I agree to the Terms and Conditions"  hyperlink and on click of it PDF should be download or at least PDF should open.

Could you please let me know if I can make crm entity field as hyperlink and also where can I store my PDF to make it public since this registration page is public.

Hi, Can someone let me know what is best way to track Purchase Orders (quotes?) for something that is different type than "item" eg Purchase order created for consultation (posted directly to the General Ledger). How do you then create a Purchase Invoice?

customer self service portal disappear

Hey i try to configure my self-service portal but after i add few users it just disappear and now i dont have the option of customer self service 

you can see in the pic that i have all the other but my customer self service gone it done show in my inactive 

a few days ago i have also a customer self service portal any suggestion?

i try to restart the portal but no luck.

and i cant reset or restore the portal because all the impotent data  that change in the last days and also the restore point that i have now all in the same situation

Estoy teniendo un problema al ejecutar un job,l

el proceso que realiza es el siguiente : 

Lee datos de una entidad del CRM 365  y lo inserta en una BD local (Como Prueba).

Lo cual ejecuto el proceso en el visual studio (SSIS) y no tengo singun problema.

El problema surge al crear un job en el SqlServer es ahi donde obtengo este error

I am setting up the production environment in Dynamics 365 FO version 8.1 platform 24. I need to put the environment in service mode to activate the financial dimensions. The Service Mode button no longer appears in LCS, as is the development environment, nor do I have a remote desktop to do it by means of commands. How do I put the production environment in service mode????

The process he performs is the following:

Reads data from a CRM 365 entity and inserts it into a local DB (As Test).
Which I execute the process in the visual studio (SSIS) and I do not have any problem.
